After getting soaked from a constant drizzle, we were ready for a big bowl of clam chowder. Headed to the Firehouse Restaurant. Ordered a bowl of chowder and prawns covered in crab with a side of grilled veggies. Wonderful! My husband had the deluxe chowder also, and halibut covered in shrimp with a side of grilled veggies. Again we were satisfied with our food and service. Always a delight to eat here.
Went for a lite snack while shopping. My husband ordered a clam chowder that was full of clams, fish, shrimp, cheese. I think I ended up eating half of it, very tasty! I ordered the fried mozzarella. Some of the pieces were still cold inside.
We choose this restaurant purely on the outside fact that it was decorated in fire station "stuff" and our two boys love anything firefighter related! The T-shirts from firehouses around the world were very entertaining to look at while we waited for our food. I was in the mood for some comfort food and ordered the meatloaf. My wife ordered the clam chowder. Their menu boasts their chowder was voted best on the Oregon coast 3 years in a row (and not allowed to win 4 years in a row) and they're not kidding! It was the best she has ever had.
The meatloaf dinner was absolutely delectable, the best I've ever had at a restaurant. The combination of foods was SOOOO good, I ordered another plate to go so I could have it again the next night. The creme brulee was also excellent, one of the best I've found also after 16 years of tasting. The salads were notable and even the kid's Mac and Cheese was darn tasty!
We will eat here every time we're in the area from now on.
