I'd have to agree with both prior comments, while you wonder how that is possible, note the dates are 2 years apart. I went to Sully's a few years ago (we live locally but rarely eat out Italian, we just make it yummy at home) enjoyed the food and had great service.
We went again tonight and I will never go back. We were part of a large group and I was excited to go out with my husband. When we arrived we were told our group was downstairs, in a dingy undecorated basement with plastic tables, plastic chairs, and PLASTIC TABLECLOTHS!! I felt like I was eating in a hospital cafeteria, not a "nice (for the area)" restaurant. After a good 30 min. wait we were served watery iceburg lettuce salads, followed by a small helping of soggy pasta and two choices of sauce. The sauces were tasty, but they ran out!! We kept waiting for a refill at the tiny buffet and while we were waiting the wait staff (there were two for over 50 people) started clearing our plates. Apparently we'd eaten our budget for the night. We were then given a small scoop of peppermint ice cream, also tasty, but they can't take credit for it as it came from the Dairy across the street. Did I mention our water glasses were empty the entire time? She came and refilled a few, but not all the glasses at the table once during the course of the meal. We'd all have been parched but the table had 4 extra place settings, so we drank that. With the terrible service and lack of food I thought that we must have been on a tight, prepaid budget at the treat of the company we were there with. But no, we were told by a coworker that we were supposed to go upstairs and pay $11.50 per person, we were never even given a bill. It wasn't a terrible rip off, but I would have rather paid $3.00 more and eaten food of my choosing upstairs in the dining room, and taken home leftovers.
While checking out we were asked how our meal was and I mentioned that it would have been nice to have had a bit more food. I was rudely told "You could have had as much as you wanted the first time through the line" Actually, no I couldn't have because they ran out of alfredo sauce before the entire group made it through the line. Why did she even ask if she didn't want to hear the answer. The other employee standing around was acting very important and arrogant as he spouted off wrong facts about our world.
In sum, mediocre food, terrible service, and lousy environment. I will never eat there again, and having us eat in a dark basement with low ceilings... BAD IDEA!
We were looking for a good Italian restaurant while traveling through Central Oregon & found good reviews for this restaurant online. Boy, were we disappointed! Very hard to find, parking very bad. When we got inside, there was no one at the greeter station. We waited at least 20 minutes for someone to see us & 10 more to be seated in an empty restaurant. We were rushed into placing our orders. Then, though we wanted the dinner, (salad, antipasto, bread, entree) the waiter ASSUMED we only wanted a la carte (entree & bread only), he never actually asked our preference. After a 20 minute wait, he finally walks past our table, so we asked about salad & antipasto. He said "That only comes with the dinner, not a la carte." We said that we had ordered dinner, not a la carte. We then asked if we could have our salads & were told that our entrees were almost ready. We still wanted salads, which seemed to irritate the waiter. We received our salads, ate them & still had to wait 10 minutes for our entrees. We never received the antipasto! Getting a refill on our iced tea was apparently too much to ask. On a better note, the Veal Parmagiana was excellent, the Fettucine Alfredo only passable, Shrimp Scampi was ok, but nothing special. After the meal, it took another 20 minutes to pay our check, all of this in an empty restaurant. We did notice that we were only charged the a la carte price, but that was no compensation for such horrendous service & mostly average food. The prices were relatively good, if you didn't count in the lack of service. We regret going out of our way to find this place & will never return. We Should have driven a few more miles & gone to Johhnny Carino's.
I have to say this is the best Italian restaurant I've seen in central oregon. The food had the right spices and flavor and everything was very fresh. To boot the prices are very resonable, service was perfect. Parking wasn't great but once you get inside it's all worth it.
