Company Information: Mechanic-turned-grillmaster Gene Porter turns out Southern barbecue and down-home ambiance in the land of high technology. Dixie's optional "The Man" sauce is about as hot as sauce comes, so go easy; meals have been ruined here by unwary applications. The already spicy, already delicious barbecue doesn't really need the boost. Order Ribs, Chicken or a Brisket Sandwich with Southern diner sides like beans and rice, potato salad, baked beans and corn bread. And don't forget iced tea to soothe the burn. This place can draw a crowd, so arrive early.
Hours of Operation: Lunch Mon.-Sat.

One of the most authentic Southern barbeque experiences you're likely to find outside of the South. It's roadside, family owned, a little ramshackle, with sweet (rather than sweetened) iced tea, Georgia corn bread, ribs and brisket wrapped in tin foil and spilling over with sauce. And the Meet The Man challenge - while it can be refused if you really want - makes for a story you'll probably get a kick out of for years. It's intimidating but you recover amazingly quickly and if you're anything like me you won't stop laughing the whole time. Guys, bring your cute little girlfriends - just expect to get punched in the arm really, really hard.
Great atmosphere and family environment and a good place to enjoy a meal with the family.
The food itself was OK. I thought it would be better given the other recommendations. The sauce = HOT, people = just like home!!
