I have read the reviews before writing this. We were there New years Eve with a large group. The new remodel is a plus, but they need to provide better service for the people waiting to be seated. There were people everywhere,and no coctail server, and ONE bartender for the whole restaurant! We waited one half hour for our 7:00 reservation, and some of our party could not get waited on. When we got to our seats, service was oK, food was good as usual. The "show" wasn't what it normally is, but we understood it was a busy night.

I've been to this place several times now and most of the time the food has been great and severice good also. However, we went new years eve and we had several problems with service. First of all our cook didn't even put on a show for us which is one of the elements I have always loved about the place. We also had some problems with our bill. One of my friends was charged more for her meal and I had been charged a gratuity on my bill. When we went to talk to the manager about the bills we were treated very badly. He was yelling and telling us to leave and also went over to the table where the rest of our party was sitting and was harrassing them. After my bill was taken care of and I was trying to pay he kept walking by and saying rude things to me...I was only trying to pay my bill and leave. The waitress also used my card to pay someone elses bill too. Of course I noticed that and she reversed the payment right away. I am so disappointed because we had always had good service prior to this. All I ask is for the staff to be courteous and they were very rude. We will not ever be back.

I have been to the restaurant several times, and each time the staff has been friendly and the food has been good. As far as the chefs go, they are nice, but the last time I went there was no show at all. The chef just cooked the food for the most part and left, which was disappointing. The other customers at my table were disappointed as well, especially because the next table over the chef was putting on a great show. So as far as the production goes, its hit or miss. My big complaint about the restaurant is that the place isnt really clean. The last time I went the chairs were sticky, and the floor was dirty and soggy. Also, towards the end of our meal, there was a strong smell of some sort of rubber cement or paint, and we had to leave without finishing because the fumes were so overpowering. The staff said they were sorry and closed down the table as a result. Apparently the place was under remodel, and thats where the fumes came from. For someone who hasnt been to Tokyo Japanese Steak House, I would say to give it a try. What would make me give this place a higher rating is a cleaner environment and a better show from the chef next time. Hey, the show is half the reason for going there in the first place!
