Had a rocking time at this little place!! Everyone in the bar talks to one another and you never feel alone there. The karaoke hosts were so friendly and made me feel really good about my first attempt at singing (gulp). Good food and lots of smiling faces. Don't pass up the chance to check this place out.

I WANT to love The Home Plate.....: This place has so much potential.....two pool tables, an amazing jukebox, sometimes live music and/or karaoke on the week-ends. BUT......there is one bartender there who is just plain mean. I have worked in the service industry, so I try very hard to be kind to servers and I always tip big. This one particular woman is openly hostile. If it is close to what she perceives to be closing time, she will just outright ignore you. (BTW....there are no posted hours, so closing time is whenever she gets tired......) I was afraid to order any food, as she prepares it and I was afraid she might spit in it. She scares me. My husband and I had to play a game of pool to determine who would approach her to turn the jukebox on after a Mariner's game. I lost, and I can still feel the hatred she had towards me just for asking. We might go back, but we will definitely peek in the door to see if she is working......if so, we will go someplace else.
