This vet almost killed my cat. After a midnight run to the emergency animal hospital, I was told to return to my normal vet. As I am a new pet owner, I went to the Mission Vet Clinic, where the gal had been kind on the phone while I was seeking treatment for my cats urinary blockage.
The hospital advised the catheter be removed in 24 to 48 hours. The Mission Vet removed it promptly...and the cat has not urinated for two days now.
When I called the Mission Vet back...he said, "Not my fault. Your cat is the problem. You did not pay me for the surgery. I will charge you for the surgery if you want the catheter back in."
There were clear doctor notes handed to the vet and he said removal of the catheter was fine. He also said the trip to the emergency clinic was not needed as cats cannot die from urinary blockage...though the cat was bleeding out.
This vet is funded by World Vision and should be taken out of business.
I just picked my male cat up today from being fixed. I have also taken many other pets there as well. I have never had any problems. He is a Christian man and this is why he is a MISSION vet. There are many things he does not do. My cat did smell like pee when I picked him up today, I am not sure why. Other then that though things went pretty good. I am sorry to those who have lost pets.
DO NOT, I repeat- DO NOT take your pet to this clinic! My dog was taken into Petco for grooming a few days earlier and he received a deep gash on his paw so I took him to the nearest vet which happened to be Dr. Heo. I got a bad feeling after a minute after stepping into his office. He actually seemed a little afraid of my dog (he is a 1 year old Pekingese, 22 lbs, and probably the friendliest dog you'll ever meet) as he instructed me to hold his face away from him while he was looking at his paw. He seemed like he had absolutely no idea what he was looking at or doing. And after looking into my dog's paw, he said that I had "2 options" Option 1 being sedating my dog and applying stitches, and option 2 being taking home some "Xemodine" liquid and literally dipping my dog's paw into it twice a day for a week. I told him that option 1- stitches would probably be best, but apparantely, that was no longer an option as he looked at his watch (it was nearing 5pm which is closing time or he just simply didn't feel like doing it). He said to dip his hand into the Xemodine and putting an E-Collar on him for a week would be best. He slapped an e-collar on him that was way too small, forcing it through my dog's head even though there was absolutely no need for it at the time and I told him I already had one at home but he put it on anyway and said I needed it. I went to pay my bill at the front counter, and what do you know, I was charged for the collar. Talk about upselling! I will NEVER take my dog here again! I should've followed my intuition and walked out the second I had a bad feeling about this vet.
