My family and I were guests at the Claim Jumper Restaurant in Redmond, WA for lunch on Sept 6, 2009. First, let me say that we did have a good time there. The food was overall good and our server, Jackie, was terrific with our three young boys. I even tweeted about our experience there. We had plenty of leftover from our lunch to bring home.

So imagine my disappointment and horror when I found a piece of a very sharp glass in my leftover Tuna sandwich from Claim Jumper this afternoon (I still have the glass and would show it to my friends just to get a reaction from them)! My tooth hurt as hell (there's no other word to describe it) from biting into the glass. I was both disgusted and angry at the same time. I could have gotten seriously injured! I was extremely angry because if a such a large piece of sharp object could get into my food, I wonder what else was in my children's food. We had to throw away all the food.

Eat there at your own risk is all I can say...

I would give this a 4 for service and atmosphere, but a 2+ for quality of food. Yes the portions are huge and great for leftovers but I had the large Chicken Friend Steak (which was probably enough for 3 truckdrivers to have dinner in 1 sitting) and it was so greasy and low quality ... ew. Great skin-in mashed potatoes though, I will say. Also, we felt rushed ...

In the lounge is the place to be: Ladies if you are looking for a nice place to have lunch by yourself, this is it! You seat yourself in the lounge and have no fear, you won't have a wait person hanging around every second. A great place to kick back and write in your journal or meet a friend for a wonderful lunch. Their ice tea is very good. Large servings are the norm, but you can always take part home. Onion rings are to die for. Half an order will have you sharing or taking lots home. A full order needs a crowd! The Best Turkey Burger ever!! Beef burgers get rave notices too.
