My first experience with Cyclepath in Kirkland was last week. Here's the story:
I called on a Friday afternoon and asked if I could bring wheel bearings, that I purchaced from the local dealership, and my '07 FLSFT in to have the front wheel bearings replaced tomorrow (Saturday) and get right back on the road. I was told, "No problem, bring'er in first thing in the morning".
I get there (a little past "first thing in the morning" and was asked "May I help you?" I said I'd like to get these bearings that I brought, replaced on my bike and get right back on the road. To my surprise the guy behing the counter said; "Oh, all of our lifts are full and.." I butted in and said that I spoke to someone here Friday afternoon and they said that it would be no problem. The guy looked at me for a second and without missing a step said. "If that's what we said then that's what we'll do. Their wrencher pushed my bike right in the shop and started working staight away. The guy working on my bike was puzzled as to WHY a 100k mile bearing crapped out in 40k miles and then spent HIS time finding out WHY. (To me, that's the sign of an quality, experienced mechanic.) His theory was that there was nothing for the one bearing to seat up against, which makes sence because Harley did change the axle design in '08. When it can time to put MY bearings (the stock ones that I bought at the dealership) on the bike. It was noticed at first glance from pulling them from the box, that the dealership gave me the WRONG BEARINGS. (My fault. I just assumed, shoved them in my pocket and moved on.) CYCLPATH got on the horn and scambled to get me bearings within the 1/2 hour, replaced them and I was ready to "get the bill". (here it comes).
The cost for their bearings (Drag Specialities)AND to put them on cost me $33 dollars more than the cost of just the bearing at the stealership.
Let me recap:
They honored their word by taking me first thing.
The mechanic took an interest as to why a part blew out before it's time (It seemed, he took this as an opportunity to learn. This is a sign of a very good mechanic).
Many Professional mechanics.
Went above and beyond finding me a part within the half hour.
Friendly.
They took time with me to show me how and why. Explained what was going on with my bike.
Pricing was EXTREMELY FAIR!
AM I going back? You bet. These guys at Cyclpath are my bike's new best friend
