I had paid my rent to my landlord at this north bend branch since 1999 every month except for three years I was in Utah and on Mercer Island. I have my own credit union in Bellevue, when I am ill I am not able to drive clear to Bellevue. I went into the North Bend Branch early this month, May 2009 to cash a check for $107.00. The guy at the counter was nice but a gal with black hair was not. She came over to approve my cashing the check which was drawn on Bank of America (I do not have an account there). She had her back to me-Anyway she barely looked at me but scanned over my temp issued WA State Driver’s license—as I had just relocated back from Utah. She snapped at me that they had to have my Utah License with the hole punched in it. (Next time I will use my passport). So sicker than ever I walked back to my car to get my old license. When I returned she snapped at me that I could have falsified my driver’s license. Geez here I worked in social work 18 years, taught in public schools and have a WA State Counseling License and she’s accusing me of faking an ID. I tried to vent how unhappy I was and she yelled at me that she was going to do a no trespassing order on me that I was not allowed to return to the bank- I did not threaten her but due to my being so sick and having bad mood swings I called her names I normally rarely use.
Later I sent an apology note but instead of the bank apologizing to me for poor service they wrote told me I was not welcome at their branch. I am considering going in with a news station and have them ask them why I was treated so poorly and discriminating against me due to being disabled and ill.
What’s ironic is only a week before I was trying to cash a small $80.00 check from same source at a Snohomish brank of Bank of America and had to wait 40 minutes to approve the check being cashed and after she finally approved the check she made me wait and get back in line to get my money. What terrible service…
I ended up in emergency at Swedish because I have been so ill only to view tv commercials-of how friendly Bank of America is to their customers, this almost made me throw up some more.
Shame on them in North Bend and Snohomish Branch. I would have used the drive though because I do not have an account there and why would I want one when they treated me so crappy.. Please
Be cautious when using Bank of America if you do not have an account with them to cash a check drawn on them. Especially at the North Bend and Snohomish branches.
