Not at all impressed. The pretentious atmosphere was most unwelcome considering you're paying abolute top dollar as is every other diner. Mid way through the meal (which was really nothing out of the ordinary at all- the pairings were iffy and the food pretty lacklustre)- the kitchen stoppped, curtains were drawn and the "show" began. Every staff member was assembled stage front and we were forced to sit through a review of all resumes in the place. Please! We've been to two other top restaurants in the country (elizabeths' in Duck, MC and the Inn at Little Washington in VA)- bothe FAR surpassed the experience here. And no forced resume reviews either!
Jerry came out and told us a thing or two about enjoying his food. We took it to heard and did so. That said, the waiters were pretentious, the food was immobilized, the atmosphere was trite. Next time, I'll think I'll take the troupe to a more forgiving local, where the food doesn't say "can I help you?" with a snobby look on it's face. T. Boone Pickins wants his socks back.
Best in the West: This restaurant is a total experience. It is consistently ranked high in ALL restaurant ratings. Words cannot even begin to describe the pleasure that is the Herbfarm.
