Wild Ginger is all about hype. Food is mediocre and not memorable. I had to be reminded by my wife that I had dined at the Seattle location years ago. Nothing memorable. Went to the Bellevue location last night and still nothing memorable.
Order the small plates and do it family style and you can sample a lot of food. Price was fine as was service, avoid the traditional alcohol mark up and you can feed 4 with dessert for under a hundred.
The problem is that the food is just not very good, not bad but nothing I would go back for. Asian fusion has come to mean americanization of Asian food through excessive use of salt, sugar and sauce. If your looking for ambiance, drinks and average american asian cusine then this place is for you.
New to the area and went there friday night after New Years. A great place. Bartender really friendly and welcoming. Server was prompt and professional. She gave great recommendations. Food was very flavorful and fresh tasting. Portions were ample. We didnt leave with a lot of left over cheap food in boxes, but we weren't expecting that.
Highly recommend this to people who appreciate good food.
I recently ate at WG for the first time since hearing about how great it was for years. Finally, I got my chance. The place is beautiful and in a great location. The service was quick; our food was served within 10 minutes of ordering. The waitress was not very friendly, but Iâve noticed that with many Asian restaurants. The food wasnât as good as I expected. It was OK. I thought the prices were too high for the small portions. Definitely overrated!
