About:	With the prow-like marquee, this looks like a standard concert venue planted in the grit of First Avenue. And indeed, the musicians who perform here are well-known, but not big enough to fill a stadium such as P.J. Harvey, Zap Mama and Les Nubians to name a few. Small raised platforms offer seating around the dance floor, and there are two separate bars. The attached Green Room bar offers cocktails and a varied bar menu. Ticket prices for shows vary, but generally run USD10-USD20.

Probably my favorite place in Seattle to catch a band or solo artist. Small enough for that intimate feel but big enough to be a party. From big names to tiny local bands, it's a great place with a fun history.

Note for smart concert-goers: The main act rarely comes on before two hours after doors open, sometimes later. Don't freeze standing in a long line for a GA show... arrive a bit late and stroll in with a shorter line or none at all. The bars at Showbox are fine, but bring some cash for the right-side cash-only bar. Faster service and a good view too.

I went here for my first concert earlier this month. It's a really beautiful, clean place. I'll definitely be going back!

showbox rox!!!: the showbox is beautifully created inside. spacious and cozy.
great bands from indie to big time play here.

its a fabulous place that not too big but small enough to still be an intimate club
