Like eating in my grandma's kitchen: Tai Tung is in my blood. I have been going there since the late '60's and have grown old with the owners and waitstaff, watched the young bus boys turn into the present waitstaff and have been treated as a family member by every one of them for more than 35 years. The only other place I eat in Chinatown is their other restaurant, 4 Seas, and that's for the dim sum especially and for their wonderful staff. The food always is fresh and carefully prepared (this has become a rave for both restaurants) but going to Tai Tung always has been about more than just food. It's comfort from being treated more like a valued family member rather than a regular customer.
Wonderful evening eating out !: We enjoyed eating there very much.
not all that wonderful: It is a nice place, it's old fashion but it's not as great as many rave it would be. I don't hate the place and I've gone a few times, each time I try something different on the menu; and the thing is out of all the food I've tried so far the only good thing to me was CHICKEN WINGS! the wait staff is wonderful, depends on who you get. The ambiance is alrighty, but the ceilings are a little dirty, kind of afraid something is going to fall from the light fixtures, it's sooo dusty..!! but ya, all in all my friends like it, i would recommend someone try the place at least once.. and you go from there.
