| About: | Opened as a vaudeville theater in 1926, 5th Avenue Theatre Company shortly became a movie house. Closed in 1978, it was restored and reopened in 1980. The ornate interior of deep red, blue and gold is modeled after decor from Imperial China. The theater averages 175 shows a year, mostly musicals, including classics like The King and I and Les Miserables . The long, narrow theater seats 2,100 with the back seats far from the stage. Ticket prices vary greatly by performance and choice of seats. |

Awesome local theatre: I've been a season ticket holder to the 5th for several years now and I can't help but rave about the theatre! The local talent is excellent, the shows are fabulous, and the atmosphere is delightful.
Ticket prices are reasonable, especially on preview nights - the first Tue/Wed of a show's run.
Also, be sure to check out the free Spotlight Nights held a few weeks before a show opens.
Theatre Review: All events all the 5th. Avenue are well presented. Audiences are treated as intelligent people who appreciate good live theatre.
