| About: | The bookshop is located in the middle of Seattle's historically famous Pioneer Square. Looking at this charming grey stone exterior green canopies over large display windows with neatly scattered books, the store looks like something straight out of a movie. With a cafe in the basement of the store, Elliot Bay is a favorite with locals, especially those who love coffee. The large collection of books against the exposed brick walls has a fabulous range of books on Seattle and the Northwest. And if you're lucky you may come across limited editions or signed books. The bookstore also frequently hosts book signing or literary events of contemporary authors. |

User Rating: 5 out of 5 starssomething new something used: this shop has a college-cafeteria feeling cafe below the well stocked store so you can go straight into your espresso-fueled reading, with some vegeterian chili and cornbread to boot.
User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsElliott Bay, where else?: I've worked in Pioneer Square for 10 of the 19 years I've lived in Seattle. Except for Powells Books in Portland, there's no place like Elliott Bay that I know of within hundreds of miles.
I've been known to "shop" on Amazon but order at Elliott Bay. The Big A has enough customers, Elliott Bay Books is more than a bookstore: cafe downstairs, author readings all the time, and a staff that can't be beat. And don't forget the travel books and maps upstairs too!
