I just came from Mae Phim, and they are so rude!! Yes they are busy whatever, I order Yum Neau, but since I didn't want to butcher the name I simply said number 20. So I wait and they made a number 3, I don't understand that mistake since one is a two syllable word and the other is a monosyllable. The woman at the register looked at me like it's my fault, not to talk about how half haphazardly they made the number 20. And I have eaten there before, but always w/ my old co-worker. So I am highly disappointed and with what I ordered. And the selection is not that great, I've had way better thai. I'd hate to think this was a racial thing.
Had the Beef Panang. The curry flavor was decent, but the beef was terrible. Kind of a stewed large chunked meat and it was super tough. I actually ate around it. I know this is just a review of one dish, but in my opinion it is a staple Thai meal and speaks to the quality of the restaurant. I was very disappointed considering that it is Zagat rated.
The food was tasty and was a very reasonable price. It would have been better if they used birds eye peppers instead of the dried red pepper like the kind you shake on pizza.
