Absolutely horrible experience - Windermere: We signed with Windermere Property Management in 2001 when we moved overseas from Seattle. What a disaster. Over $1000 in accounting errors in 2001 and again in 2005. You have to go through your property reports with a fine-tooth comb as they repeatedly charged us for bogus repairs and appliance deliveries, excessive commissions, etc. Over four years, half (50%) of the utility bills were paid late, with at least one "disconnect" notice per year. They submitted outrageous bids (eg, $4000 for underground pipe problem which we had solved by a knowledgeable plumber for $150; $5000 bid to repaint an entire house which, in fact, only needed some trim painted). Only because the neighbors are good friends did we know to call and (repeatedly) request Windermere to deal with problems with the yards... but they only dealt with exterior problems. Not interior ones. The properties went from upscale to worn out inside, in four years. Forget charging tenants for damage... they let tenants leave, returned their deposits in full, and then charged us for repairs. The Windermere response was typically, "well, it's not the worst house on the street." Nor do we want them to be! But they would become the worst houses on the street if we continued with Windermere. Run, don't walk to any other property management company that you can find. (By the way, they still owe us over $1000 and refuse to pay, though they admit the error was their fault.) Before signing with Windermere, I searched online for reviews and found nothing. Now I've done my part to keep others from making the same mistake. Good luck.

Current Windermere Property Manager - 12/27/07
I don't know what office this review is inquiring about, however, if it was the Seattle office, this issue has been resolved. The broker at that time was asked to move on and is no longer with Windermere.
