I went to the Bamboo Gardens for the first time tonight with my girlfriend. As vegetarians, we were excited to find a place like this that was literally, 100% vegetarian, with more (delicious) fake meat products then you'd fine in a combination of other restaurants.
First thing we noticed was that the place had a real nice vibe to it. It's simple, but it's a charming little place. We ordered spring rolls and chicken fingers as an appetizer, which we got within a couple minutes. Both were awesome. We decided to go with one of the combinations (4 total, all great deals with a good variety of foods), despite the dozens of items on the menu.
But....yeah, I'd definitely recommend it, and both me and my girlfriend are excited about coming back. I gave it 5 stars just because 4 wouldn't do it justice, and it gets definite props for being totally vegetarian (nothing on the menu besides the fortune cookies even have egg in them). But out of 10, I'd have to give it a 9.2. But that's a vague answer ; )
An amazing array of "fake meat" offerings that will be at your table in mere moments. The service is great, and while not the most "authentic" Chinese food you could probably find it is a great value with a huge menu of items to explore. Kosher too!
The food is genuinely sub-par. The flavors aren't good, the textures aren't good. This is typical Americanized "asian" food. IF you want good vegetarian food, all real asian food has plenty of meat free options.
I don't know what all the hype is about. If you think this is good, then you really need to eat more cultural foods!
