About:Located between the University of Washington and the Arboretum , Cafe Lago embodies the essence of the traditional Italian trattoria. The small space has a black-and-white tiled floor, tables with tablecloths and an open kitchen. The menu features a collection of delectable Italian dishes including wood-fire pizzas, handmade pastas and gnocchi, plus grilled salmon, beef and house-made spiral sausage.     Thought we would try someplace new... won't ever go back. Food was mediocre, but was very expensive. $20 lasagne is one thing, but when I got the check and saw that they charged us $14.95 for my 7-year olds spegetti with butter and cheese, I was dumbfounded. So many other options for italian.

    I am looking for an italian restaurant in the Seattle area, but honestly their website took just too much of my time and I gave up. They should leave things simple.

    average: Yes the pasta is fresh, but comes in skimpy portions and is overpriced. Fairly limited menu.

    If you're driving to dinner, might as well go to Piatti's in the U-Village or someplace up on Capitol Hill.
