About:The Dish Cafe in Ballard is a great place to cure a hangover late on a weekend morning. The spot is so popular and tiny you'll probably have to wait a while for a table. Once inside, you'll find the standard breakfast fare: omelets, Eggs Benedict, French toast, pancakes, waffles. Everything is adequate, but not outstanding. But, there is one thing about Dish that makes it truly outstanding, and that is the red country potatoes that come with most breakfasts. Roasted, diced, mixed with onions and seasonings, diners may find themselves eating their entire portion of potatoes, while neglecting the rest of the meal. - Katie Kinney

Nowhere is better in Seattle than "The Dish."  I like the omlettes, biscuits & gravy & the eggs Bennedict.   If you're lucky the special will be chicken fried steak & eggs, excellent!   You'll wait outside (proabably in the cold) for 30 mins. on the weekends, but they'll give you coffee to keep you warm.   I now live in Texas but dream about the breakfast I used to eat when I lived in Ballard.  I miss "The Dish" terribly!   Please, do me a favor and eat here.

The scrambles are awesome (they aren't like regular scrambles, they put something else in the eggs that makes them better than any other scramble I've ever had), the biscuits and gravy I've been told are the best ever, and the eggs benedict are great.

The wait is very long, but it's worth it. Coffee is available while you wait outside (they put out a tarp when it rains). Cash only.
