About:Shiro Kashiba opened Nikko in this space and made a shining name for himself as Seattle's best sushi chef. He moved Nikko to the Westin Hotel then sold it and set himself up anew at Shiro's in Belltown. Meanwhile Jeff and Lisa Kaizuka took over this space and established their own shrine to Japanese good taste and cuisine. Jeff does his dashing cookery at teppanyaki tables, flashing knives and flash-frying meat and seafood. Lisa waits tables and acts as host. Sushi cuts are generous and modestly priced.

Great restaurant to go to for birthday parties with family and friends. Staff is friendly and courteous. The food is good and portions are excellent. The price is affordable and ambience is cozy. I enjoyed this restaurant overall and compared to teppanyaki restaurants in Vancouver -- this is by far the best value you will get.....PRICES are VERY reasonable.

GO CHECK IT OUT AND YOU WILL GO BACK AGAIN!!!

This one's for you Mikado!: Haha I love this restaurant! If you have kids or a big social group call in for reservations and I promise you will have a wonderful time, this is a decision you won't regret. I like Mikado because they are original and very convenient for me. Oh and did I mention parking is right next to the restaurant!!! Ha, and they don't even charge for parking like other Teppanyaki places I know... The steak and sushi prices are at a very reasonable price, if not cheap. Trust me you'll have a good time and maybe even make some new friends while your at it =) A fun and enjoyable experience that's worth a try at least.

My favorite restaurant :): Mikado is a great restaurant for families, and friends. I recommend this to everyone if your just looking to have a great time or spend some quality time with your family, hey after all it's a dinner and a show! Go for the teppanyaki is my advice at all times unless you have a group of friends that want to try the private rooms that they have "tatami" rooms I believe are what they are called.

If you would like to have your own table remember to call in for reservations from a month to a few hours early just so they can make sure you get what you want. Oh and don't be surprise to see some familiar faces while at the tables ;) Our former governor Gary Locke and his family once in a while show up to dine.

Umm... some ups and downs to this restaurant it's not really a romantic place to pick out, more of a fun, warm family / friends place. Be prepared for a crowed restaurant or a peaceful place depending on events that happen outside of the restaurant or just because it's a pretty new business (2nd year opened under new management). Food wise I'd say always go for the teppanyaki, but that's just me and my family, we love the show the chef performs. The food just sizzling hot and warm straight from the teppan grill, where you can see all the ingredients put into it! A word to describe Mikado? Well it can't really be described, but lets just say fabulous! Here's a quote a chef, he once told me "if it's not good I don't want you to come back." Seriously, when you here someone who take so much pride in their cooking they mean it. If it's literally not good don't come back! Lastly, this is what I've told so many of my friends. It's a different experience for everyone just because one person had a bad experience at it doesn't mean you have to. Have fun, try new things and than afterwards go ahead and evaluate it yourself. Well that's it for me... Till next time my inquisitive readers : )

PS here's a list of foods to try while your there:
-Any of the 3-dish specials with fried rice and ice cream included!
    -New York Sirloin!
    -Ohh Sweet tender FLIET MIGNON!!!!
    -Finally REAL Scallops!
All these come with Soup(tori), Salad, and Steamed Rice, Shrimp Starters, Veggies!, NOODLES!, and what else!?! A SHOW!!!!!!!!

-WHITE SAUCE KING OF ALL SAUCES! you've got to try it. 90% of people I've met love this sauce. (I've met a lot over at least 45 people while at Mikado)

*Come in on your birthday and remember to mention it to the chef/waitresses they'll have a surprise for you at the end of your meal ;)*

Desserts? (I wish they had more but that's fine)
-SPECIAL FRIED ICE CREAM! (comes in Vanilla, Green Tea, Red Bean, and Mango) it's about 4 by 2 inches and there's 2 bars per order.
-Just ice cream same as above but not special ; )

Sushi??? ummm here's a few good selection:
    -California Rolls+Cream Cheese
    -SPICY Tuna!
-Hand Rolls sometimes *depends what you choose in it*
-Spider Roll (24 out of 30 people "my friends")
    -fuji Roll for cheesy lovers?
    -Edamame Yum! +healthy
