i have had my tongue and genitalia pierced here. with my tongue i didnt have any problems minimal sweeling and i went back and got a shorter tongue ring free of charge after my swelling went down. he has pierced my tongue all three times i have had it done. i had to remove it for work reasons a couple times. for my other piercing the guy was awesome i went in by myself and he made me feel so relaxed and not nervous about it. it turned out perfect. he also fixed my belly button piercing after another piercer messed it up and did it wrong. this is the only place i will go.

I got my eyebrow pierced at kalamalka and my brother got his ears pierced there as well. his piercing went perfectly and hes never had any problems. and although there was a slight problem with my eyebrow piercing (I guess they're rather difficult) the guy was really apologetic about it and gave me a big discount for my extra pain.

Eyebrows are quite normal and easy. there should be no problems with how it is done but its good that he gave you a discount for his mistake.

i had my nose pierced today and by this evening was having some trouble. there was significant swelling that was causing the stud of the nostril screw to be held so tightly into my nose that it was causing a lot of pressure, to the point of causing a bruise and limiting circulation. removing it seemed futile, however, i found a fairly painless way. i have been known to be sensitive to surgical steel, though i was assured this was the best available. i suspected i may be having the beginnings of an allergic/sensitivity reaction. i sterilized some wire cutters with alcohol, pushed the screw away from the skin from the inside of my nostril and cut off the gem. i then blew my nose and out came the rest. i replaced it with a small diamond stud earring. getting the back of the earring on in my nostril was a challenge, a hemostat did the trick. having relieved the pressure seems to have resolved the problem. the swelling and redness have receded. i would like to suggest to the piercer that he leave a little extra room for swelling and pay attention to the customer's actual nasal wall thickness before 'custom' bending the screw. i feel this could have been avoided by leaving a little extra room as i would rather the screw be a little loose in the healing process than too tight. being too tight impedes healing. i solved my own problem, however, i suspect there are others out there needlessly suffering extended healing times because the initial *custom* bent screw is not actually customized to the customer, but to an 'average'. and why does a specialty piercing salon not offer options in 14k or 18k gold?

Hi. My name is Dave and I have been a professional piercer for twelve years. In your post i think you have it half right but half almost right. First off, your piercer really should take at least a visual measurement of the area being pierced. You don't have to be a professional to tell when something is or isn't going to fit. But keep in mind nobody swells the same, mild moderate and severe. In that, while there is some things you can ask the client to try and discover how its going to go there really is no way to tell. In the event of severe swelling one should always contact the person doing the piercing. Most reputable places have many different sized options to assist in the appropriate healing prcess. gold and other rare metals are not the best for new piercings. Silver tarnishes and many people are allergic to gold, way more that 316l otherwise known as surgical stainless steel. On the second topic that caught me off guard here was the stud you put in. A great rule of thumb is if it came from the mall,,,it,'s not body jewelry. and one last thing and not to be a nag but alcohol does nothing for cleaning non pourous things like metal and certainly does not sterilize anything. There are tons of choices for body piercing in town and the search should be just that... a search.
