Fantastic restaurant. Great ambience -- cozy and romantic, but relaxed. The food is terrific. My favorite thing is the Chicken and Spaetzle (covered with a wonderful cream and mushroom gravy). It is amazing (moist and tender (must be from nearby Linden)) -- and really huge portions. (I took a lot home and it was just as good the next day for lunch!) They are really known here for their steaks. I always have had trouble ordering the steaks, because it is mostly sirloin on the menu and I love the chicken dish so much. Last time, I finally broke down and had the "Logger's Steak" (covered with sauteed mushrooms and fried onions). I actually could not believe how great this steak really was. I was shocked! I've had great steaks at Morton's and Ruth Chris and the like, but this sirloin was full of flavor and tender -- really terrific. (Again -- huge portions!). (I did have the New York stuffed with Langostinos (covered with Bernaise) once -- the effect of the dish wasn't my favorite). This Logger's Steak was way better. Anyway, go there soon! It's well worth the 15-20 minute drive out of Bellingham.

The Black Forest Steakhouse in Everson is great. It's authentic and rustic. The drive to Everson is nice as well.
The Black Forest Steakhouse in Bellingham is a nicer dining experience and has the same great food.
If you want the country/German feel, go to Everson. If you want finer dining (dress up), go to Bellingham.
