    We spent a week in Washington and was told for a great taste of the south that we had to visit. the mac and cheese and black eyed peas where very good the fish on the other hand was not so great i could have gotten that at any 2 star rest. and paid alot less.for a place that is called southern kitchen there is not alot of southern flair. the corn and taste like it came from a can and the mash potatoes are runny.the chicken well it was fried chicken nothing to great but was hotand fresh. we sat at two tables of 4 and they made sure to tack on there 18% gratuity to each bill all in all too expensive for what you get. nothing more or less than average take your $20 a plate and spend it at a good buffet.

    I love this place! I drive all the way from Belfair (45min) just to eat there! Im as white as they come and tattooed to boot, and they welcome me and my guests like family!!!

    I was raised in Louisiana and Georgia. The people I was with are from Alabama. We all came to the same conclusion after our meal at Southern Kitchen...NEVER GO BACK. My meal there was the worst I've ever had in my life. The macaroni and cheese was cold. The sweet potatoes and collard greens came out of a can. The fried chicken wasn't really seasoned. The service was horrible. Not friendly at all. The cook (who was also the server) was asked "Where are you from?". He gave a look like he didn't have time for small talk, even though there were only two other tables occupied and said "Oklahoma". Oklahoma. Oklahoma is not considered the south. Just because your restaurant sells grits and fried chicken doesn't make it a southern restaurant. Suggestion: Get someone from the south (the real south) to show your employees how it's done. If I could I would give it a rating of half a star because the mango lemonade was good.
