Tasty, tasty, tasty!!! We loved this lil place! The ice cream is sold by the ounce and is all homemade. We tried several flavors and recommend trying the Italian Ice as well... so good....

I've lived in Port Townsend for six months, and local friends rave about the store. Others describe coming out of the woods on special occasions, just for Elevated Ice Cream. Friends who visit from Seattle rave about the availability of Violet Crumble at the Candy Store, or enjoy their raspberry strings. I think their chocolates are yummy, and have been willing to accompany others for the walk, ice-cream, and to support a local business.

I don't go out of my way to go to the Elevated Candy Shop on my own, though, because on my first few visits, I was treated rudely by staff, and it hasn't gotten better. I'm 30, and presentable, so don't look like a shoplifter or anything. Nonetheless, I've found the older people working at the Candy Shop to be consistently harsh, and agro (the younger ones are nice, but I don't seem to get them as often). At first, I wrote it off as "Wow, perhaps she's getting a divorce, and having a bad day." When it happened another time, accompanied by a look like I'd just shat on the floor, I thought, "Maybe she's getting a divorce, and the other woman looks like me." But, with the course of time, quietly accompanying other people who are enjoying themselves, I've come to notice that, while people are nice to my friends, the older women there don't ever approach polite to me. They address me like it inconveniences them that I want to spend money at their store. I don't know if it is some transplated Port Angeles racism or what, but after today, I'm ready to buy all my candy at the Co-Op. I'll still probably end up there at least monthly, and should things change, I will let you know. For now, I'm saving myself the trouble, and supporting local businesses where I don't feel abused.

THE Best: A neighborhood treasure that has only improved with time. Not only a heavenly place to indulge your ice cream fantasy, but an unbeatable people watching hangout! From left-over hometown hippies to trusty tourists and first time high school dates, this place is a feast for the eyes and palate! Blind Love has THREE kinds of chocolate - seasonal, but worth every moment.
