The greatest little restaurant you will find anywhere. I've never been there when it wasn't busy so go early and plan to enjoy the view. GREAT burgers and the home made pies are to die for !! If you travel any where near Seabeck, be sure and stop at Barbie's Seabeck Bay Café. Run by Barbie and her whole family and you will find every one is friendly.
When I have out-of-state visitors who want to see the "real" Northwest outside of Seattle, I bring them to Seabeck to eat at Barbies and then to Scenic Beach State Park to see the awesome sight of the Hood Canal and Olympic Mountains while walking on oyster beds.
Barbie's is a great, friendly stop, especially for a casual breakfast in the off-season when its not crowded and you can chat with the locals. The crab and seafood omelettes are chocked full of fresh seafood. Twice a year they make corned beef hash, and its the best I've ever had. Fri-Sun bisquits and sausage gravy make a tasty treat. Leave calorie counting and cholesterol worries home for a day. Lemon berry pie, with lemon-infused crust is about the best pie in the world. Fresh salmon is served in numerous tasty dishes. The kitchen is small, so sometimes the wait is a while, so leave any need for rushed service behind, or get a ready-made sandwich somewhere else if you're in a hurry.
Everyone talks about the amazing pies (and with just cause!), but if you want a great meal don't miss out on the Dungeness Crab sandwiches and her homemade Chilli!!! Her breakfast skillets are AMAZING and the biscuits that are served awaken the most nostalgic of taste buds to Grandma's baking! Adding to the ambience are the gorgeous natural surroundings that Seabeck, WA has to offer! Definitely worth the drive! Hey Yahoo! you got any extra stars I could give to this out of the way gem?
