Tacoma Art Museum is one of the best museums in the region! The exhibitions are top notch. It's worth the entrance fee or membership, go there and see for yourself!
Horable Service: I came to the museum with my infant and mother. While I was there I had to feed my child whom was in their stroller and the milk was contained in a bottle. I was told to leave or stop feeding my child. That I couldn't feed my child their. I understand not allowing beverages to ensure the safty of the art, but a bottle? Unless I opened it, it wasn't going to spill out. The staff who aproched me was rude and not understanding. I left a comment card about the service and later received an email from a rep of the Museum. They again pointed out the no beverage policy. I undersand that, and I pointed out that if you aren't going to spell out something (ie. No beverages including bottles for infants) then you can't enforce it. I have learned this working retail. The customer is always right and if it doesn't specificly say NO then you can't enforce it. So please do not go to the Tacoma Art Museum, they are a non family friendly place, that no only deny's you to care for your child but they refuse to cater to families with children.

They have special days for children! And a person is not a customer of a museum, but Audience - the first purpose of a museum is to protects its contents, the second is to show it to the people.
