I wish the new owners luck,I think they are going to need it,their track record aint that great when it comes to making the grade,I have read several reviews and a few of Johns inflated articals in local papers,Like his aged beef (spoiled)authintic frozen lasagne and meat balls, been there had it wont go back, false advertisement is a crime and its not bragging if you can do it,,as far as the stupid american comment from another review, thats just the tip of the iceberg, according to chef john we are also lazy and wasteful americans yeah!So lets all rush out and spend our hard earned AMERICAN dollars at the Rose Tree in beautiful downtown castlerock,wa
I have been to the Rose Tree in Castle Rock several times and twice now since the new owner John and his wife purchased it. Both meals I have eaten have been delicious and the service has been awesome. The new owners are very kind and hospitable. It doesnât take any time at all to notice that both husband and wife care for their customers as well as their business. Serving is their passion. My prayer is that they will prosper well in these very hard economic times. They are certainly on their way the quality of food they are putting out and the service they exhibit.
GREAT RESTAURANT, GREAT VALUE!: My first visit to the Rose Tree Restaurant was well worth the trip to Castle Rock. The Rose Tree was immaculate and had a great casual feel for socializing and enjoying a great meal. My server Elaine was courteous and attentive and made me feel like I was a regular or part of the Rose Tree family.
Elaine offered me healthy alternatives to the standard baked potatos or fries with my meal and they were very accommodating with my requests.
The food was wonderful and cooked to perfection and my steak was one of the best I have had in a long time. The portions were large and dinner was very reasonable in price. I left the Rose Tree very satisfied and wanting to return very soon.
If your on the way up to Mt. St. Helens or are driving up I-5, make sure you stop at the Rose Tree Restaurant & Lounge off exit 49. This is a place you don't want to miss!
