Having been tutored by Jean Barkhurst (Orcutt) of the old BIA days I am shocked by the failure of the leaders and other parties that have an interest in tribal affairs of the Quinaults. The casino is built on a stretch of beach that is not protected by dunes or grass, took out the scrubbrush and trees exposing a ecologically sensitive area that has been stable for 10,000 years, ,no doubt killing the endangered minnow that lives there. Moclips tried the same thing 80-100 years ago and the operation didn't last the winter due to excavation of the dunes and in the meantime sealevel has risen 5-6 inches. Get the right gravitational line up during the right season and the casino is gone but MORE importantly QUINAULT ADMIN. the minnow is extinct! Don't you have any botanists or local family historians advising you on these matters. I have to give you a rating of 0.
