Hip Eats in Wenatchee: I confess: I'm hooked. I have to devour McGlinn's Oriental Chicken Salad: teriyaki chicken mounded over the freshest lettuce, cabbage, crunchy mai-fun noodles, sesame seeds and almonds all bonded together with an incredibly savoury soy-ginger dressing.

The wood-fired oven is tempting, and delivers up thin-crust Greek Pesto, Margherita, and Italian Sausage pizzas, among other delights. And their sundown dinners are tempting: three course meals that include a complex carrot soup, steak, salmon and dessert -- something we always seem to be too full to enjoy.

The atmosphere is just right too. there's a bar stocked with microwbrews and an increasing number of local wines, and the unfinished brick walls sport photos of the Wenatchee Chiefs baseball team, members of which were housed upstairs in the Garland apartments in bygone days.

This is as much a family restaurant as a hip wine bar though, and the casual atmosphere make it popular in a city where suits and ties are rare as the rain that doesn't fall on the eastern slopes of the North Cascades.

Nights -- particularly weekend nights -- can be busy, and parties may have to wait several minutes for a table, but if you've got a hankering for that oriental chicken salad, it's worth the wait. Service is friendly, though it can get backed up during the peak dining times.

The sophisiticated menu, coupled with the historic, yet casual atmosphere, make McGlinn's one of the top restaurants in Wenatchee

Over priced: Food is a little above average. Price high for what/where it is.

Relax and Drink a Beer: Relaxing, cozy restaraunt/pub. Good food, great selection of quality beers, relaxing music, good clientele (so you can bring your kids). Local favorite.
