This is one of the worst dealerships I have ever dealt with.
First...the Dick Hannah Customers for Life program is a complete ripoff. Don't fall for that marketing gimmick. The program states that Dick Hannah will provide you with a rental car when you bring your Kia in for scheduled maintenance and free tires when it is time to replace your original tires. What Dick Hannah doesn't tell you is that they use the "Severe Conditions" schedule...not the standard everyday schedule that 99 percent of people drive. So you will have to have MORE than necessary service performed to your vehicle to qualify for that "Customers for Life" program. Dick Hannah representatives will also tell you that you have to stay on the "Severe Conditions" schedule to maintain the warranty....complete lie. This is their way to make more money off you. The schedules are not very clear in the owners manual, so it is very easy for them to confuse you....don't fall for it. Just in case you are worried about Dick Hannah losing money by offering those "free car rentals"...no need to worry...Dick Hannah charges service rates that are a considerable amount more than other Kia dealerships charge for the same service....your paying for that rental car whether you like it or not. When you want those "new tires" they offer under the program, that is elusive as well. You will have to be riding on just about smooth tires before you qualify to have them "inspected". The service department will then pull up your history and find that you might have had an oil change performed at another Kia dealer somewhere while you were traveling. Guess what?...you are no longer part of the "customers for life" program...you got your oil changed somewhere else...no tires for you.
The service department at Dick Hannah Kia was not capable of resolving many concerns I had with my vehicle under warranty. Repeated repair attemtpts and overall poor workmanship was standard over these last few years of owning my Kia.
So take my opinion for what it's worth. This was just my experience. I will never visit another Dick Hannah dealership...I do not trust them. They are very nice and willing to do backflips to get you in that new car.....but.....stop.....think about it....ask questions. You can bring up my points about the "Customer for Life" program. They'll likely hesitate...think...then come up with a less than truthful answer. Make sure you are clear about everything and get it in writing...have the service department "circle" and "initial" the schedule you will need to be on to maintain the warranty of your vehicle. These people smile and take your money as long as you play the game. Stop playing that game and see how far it gets you with the people of Dick Hannah Kia.
I have purchased Kia cars from this dealership since 2006! My son has done the same - he drives a Kia also. The most recent one was purchased from Steve Davis, and he is a true professional â itâs nice to be able to trust that you are being told the truth, even if itâs not always exactly what you want to hear...
What makes this so unique is the fact that we have to drive almost 150 miles to do business with them. Funny, we have Kia dealerships all around us here in Seattle and we prefer dealing with Dick Hannah Kia because there is no hassle or pressure of any kind. We can do the preliminaries over the phone, and they'll have it ready in perfect condition whenever we decide to pick it up.
Dick Hannah Kia is one of only a few dealers who even understand online auto purchasing. When I contact dealers to make a purchase, I already know the exact model I want, have my financing in place, and am interested in bottom line price only. I want no add-ons, no cross selling on financing, no hassles. For me, buying a car should be no more complicated than buying a pair of jeans...take it to the counter and check out. Since I have done all my homework prior, the only thing I am really shopping for by the time I contact the dealer is price and service with integrity.
For my latest purchase (a 2009 Kia Rio) I had inquired at many dealers throughout the Portland area about a specific Rio I was interested in purchasing. I only contacted dealers which already had the model I wanted in stock. Half the dealers did not respond to my e-mail inquires or did so several days later. Not so with Dick Hannah Kia in Vancouver. Steve Davis responded to my inquiry within an hour of my sending it, giving me all the information I had requested, plus more! Over the next few days (and many e-mail exchanges) about options and price negotiations, I was always responded to in a timely manner. In the end, I purchased my Rio from Steve because he had the best customer service hands down! Arrival and departure at the dealer was just as I had requested; no hassles, no cross selling, no surprises. Drove 35 miles for the deal and would do it again in a heartbeat!
If you are not a fan of the traditional showroom sales tactics, and prefer to buy your vehicle online, you owe it to yourself to contact Steve Davis. He and the people at Dick Hannah Kia "get" what online auto purchasing is all about.
