poor service, ok food. I was surprised at how small the tables were. The staff seemed to be made up of hight school students.
My experience in the restaurant was in a word "traumatic". We arrived and got in the long line. One of the waitreses, quickly informed us that since we had a party of six, we would have to be separtated. I was with four kids and a set of grandparents. We realy could'nt separate. did I mention she was extremely bossy? (She was maybe 18 years old). Anyway, she could see we did'nt want to separate, so she told us we could wait for the one large table, but it would take about 30 minutes. We said fine, and we sat done on a bench outside.(during this time we were very patient and understanding) After we had waited over 45 minutes,(with a newborn) for a table, we quickly realized we had been forgotten. People were being seated in front of us at a very fast rate. After reminding the hostess that we were waiting for a large table, because we had more than five people in our party, she said-"we can sit you at a smaller booth, but usually we don't do that". We said fine, because we were very hungry. After being seated, we realized she was right and our table was too small. We saw another waitress cleaning off a large table and I said, "Why did'nt we get that one?" No sooner did I say this, and the surly little 18 year old waitress I previously mentioned, yelled across the room "Let me guess you wanna change tables?" She ran over and began berrating me in front of an entire room of people, then said "It is our policy not to let people change tables." "I told you this before" I have to say, I was not prepared to deal with this snotty little brat, so I stopped her and told her I had never been treated so rude in my life. Everyone was watching us of course. The waitress puffed herself up and actually got right in my face. I began gathering up my kids and the grandparents. And as I am trying to get my infant in his carrier, she keeps going off about why these are the rules and why she has to keep a tight ship. I said "I understand, but I am not a five year old." She then say "you sure act like one". As I am leaving she says "whatever, just leave", and the other staff chime in as well, I mean I am trying to remove myself from the problem, and they just keep trying to egg me on. It seemed like something out of a dream. I should have asked if it is their "policy" to be abusive to patrons! I understand this is a very small restaurant, and they make people wait for tables outside in a line, like cattle. You can't check in and come back later. This is a very small town, with limited places that serve a good breakfast. I had been there three times before and felt it was ok. The service was not wonderful but the food made up for it. However after this experience, which I tell everyone about. (And I come from an affluent family in the area), I obviously wont be coming back. It is the old saying "Don't judge a book by it's cover". All they saw was a woman with four kids and no husband with her. I remember how full of themselves they were when this happened. They felt that they could lose a few customers now and then. I wonder now, in this economy, if they still feel that way. Anyway, If you want fast service, comfortable seating and happy waiters, don't go here.
OUR FAVORITE!! We drive for hours just for the food! Very friendly, lots of choices, and something for everyone! Very cozy, and the line goes rather quick!
