I had a smiling face greeting me at the door, despite them being packed, and a place to sit with water and a menu (as well as a lovely description of lunch that day) within moments. I only needed to exert a couple of minutes of patience before my order was taken (does the other guy think he should go before people who were there first?) and food in about 15 minutes. My husband had a the Shelby Cobra burger, that thing is a monster! Myself, I had a New York steak that seemed to just melt in my mouth it was so good. And talk about fresh salad, the waitress told me it was Romain hearts that they tear fresh themselves! Wow! Go here when in Oroville, you will not regret it. Just wish it had been warm enough outside to sit on that pretty patio or their's, they even have a water wall with goldfish.
Worst service I have ever had in my life: The time has come that the food is not good enough to ignore the service. The food is decent, if not good with nice hamburgers and fries. Tthe service has gone down so much that it overtakes the enjoyment of eating there completely. If only I could give zero stars on the serviceI would. I have heard from a lot of people about the bad service at Fat Boys recently and the last couple of times I have experianced very bad service as well.
Long wait times are the norm in this diner but now they have strectched to a point that it would be better to call in your order days ahead. I recently sat down to a breakast of scrambled eggs and sasuage. After waiting one hour for my meal I received bacon and eggs over easy! Mistakes will be made but this is just a start in the long run of bad service at this place. Keep in mind FB's operates on a first come first serve basis to the extreme. If you arrive at the diner and 4 tables are already seated, you must wait until those 4 tables have been served before your meal will begin. Fat Boys also operates on their own scedule. They are closed two days of the week, but will close any other day at their leisure. Often times I am told by friends that they had to eat elsewhere because of another sudden closure.
A friend of mine recently sat down to enjoy a milk-shake. He ordered medium however he was delieverd a large. Instead of attempting to fix the order, the owner simply added the charge and tip of the large drink. Another friend of mine recently dined for lunch. In a conversation with the waitress, she explained when there is a customer she does not like, she sticks her fingers in their drink. I have not seen that waitress now in a couple of months but this clearly is not how to operate a business.

This is not an accurate view in the least. I eat at this restaurant on a regular basis. Short of reserving a table (which can be an option if you just call ahead) all restaurants are a first-come first-serve basis. The food is downright addictive and the service has always been friendly. Even when the staff is extremely busy, there is always a smile and the best service possible. Yes, sometimes things may slow down a bit, but they don't have a huge kitchen and they do an incredible amount of volume, so there may be a bit of a wait, 30 minutes isn't asking much, heck, that is common at Denny's. As for so-called sudden closures, that is completely understandable, it is called someone is sick and can't be replaced or there was an emergency. And for the record, they are much more consistent than other eating options in town who close because they want a month off. And when these folks close, they are improving their establishment for the benefit of their customers, so you can't complain.
Perhaps their reviewer and the one before (No N) have a personal vendetta or just massive egos where the world must revolve around them being put ahead of others. Give this place a shot, you'll be pleasantly surprised.
Food awesome Service terrible: Food was wonderful but service was horrid, people who came in 1/2 hour after us received their meals first, all we ordered were hamburgers

What is with people imagining others are being served/helped first. What did you order? If it was steaks or pasta that takes longer to make than a burger. You really shouldn't be so stuck on yourselves.
