User Rating: 1 out of 5 starsPsycho administrators allow field trips for criminally insane patients jeopardizing the lives of innocent people including children. Anything goes - patients who kill elderly are rewarded by field trips to include the county fair. We should shut down these types of institutions rather than support them

eastern state is twentyfive years behind the times in mental health i was a patient there but i was not treated very well i was abuse by hospital staff

No offense, but if you were a patient there doesn't that mean you were not in a right mental state? So in otherwords you do not have the right mind frame to be making such accusations.

Well obviously he WAS a patient and he isn't now. So he is entitled to his opinion.

I am actually a former employee of ESH. I worked as an intermittent MHT in adult and psych and forensics for 7 years. I absolutes have empathy for the patient who made this review. This was the most hostile and difficult place that I have ever worked. The mixed messages that are regularly sent to patients as the result of the lack of a "standard of practice" in my opinion was very abusive. These mixed messages to person's in a mental health crisis can lead to all sorts of issues. Bottom line: If this mental hospital represented a person, it would be very much mentally ill itself. I'll be damned if I ever really saw any real "psychology" practiced in that place. A response to Shelly, you would be amazed how many of the regular staff do not appear to have the right mind frame. And this patient would not have had access to the internet or computer while being institutionalized therefore gaining access to one later it is likely that that person was of a more sound mind and knew what he was talking about.

Oh, and by the way, if the earlier comment was made by a Shelly, a nurse who I know works at this hospital. She is highly incompetent, has poor judgment, is very passive aggressive and very dangerous person to work around. And I would not be surprised at her making such an insensitive comment as the one previously posted.

The staff from top to bottom should be checked for sanity for allowing Phillip Paul, a killer, to visit a local fair for recreation. In fact they should be questioned for allowing him to have Facebook to converse with other . people. The guy killed an elderly lady and was convicted. Now his punishment is to have all the comforts for a life of ease. Every one of the staff should be fired immediately.
I agree - they should be shut down immediately for incompetence and for endangering innocent lives not only at the county fair but for the 3 days that Phillip Paul was on the loose. An apology should be given to the family of the elderly woman who lost her life while her killer is treated to special outings. His victim cannot enjoy the county fair nor will her family ever be the same.
