A charming atmosphere and exceptional service were my first impressions of the restaurant. On the few occasions I've visited in the area, the restaurant is a must for dining out. The Chalet offers a wide variety of menu items to suit any palate; one of my favorites -- Chicken Marsala with their signature special salad (the best dinner salad I've ever eaten)! Enjoy the wonderful flavors and presentations of meals and the courteous and welcoming staff at this little restaurant.
What a dismal experience at this small restaurant. Unfortunately for us, the experience was dismal. I have never had such terrible service before. I felt virtually ignored. Our waitress actually forgot to serve our salads! and brought our entrees out and didn't even notice until I asked where are the salads. Oh, she said, do you want them? Our water glasses were never refilled. I had to ask twice for water as they again "forgot". Very unhappy, a huge disappointment. I can't believe they would not offer to adjust the bill on the missing salads. I will not be returning here. A dismal experience. apparently they cater to locals as servers were more attentive to others. and it was NOT that crowded. TWO THUMBS DOWN
This restaurant is a wonderful addition to Chewelah. We have needed a restaurant that has excellent food with a wide range of choices at reasonable prices. We have taken at least a dozen people with us to dine there, and their comments usually are "we can't get food this good in Spokane". It doesn't matter if it is breakfast, lunch or dinner. The service is great, the atmosphere is pleasant, and they have a full bar. Mike and Kathy are the owners and are the nicest people you ever want to meet. Give them a try. Closed on Monday and Tuesday.

Ever hear of "two sides to every story?" You don't know me, but I have seen you at the Chalet since this review, being as difficult to the staff as ever.....
