NY WIFE AND I HAVE EATEN HERE SINCE THEY CAME FROM HERMISTON. THE FOOD IS GREAT AND PLENTIFUL. SHE LIKES IT HOT ME NOT. ALWAYS TAKE HOME ENOUGH FOR A MEAL NEXT DAY. TEA, FORTUNE COOKIES, HOT AND SOUR OR EGG FLOWER SOUP COMES WITH MEAL. EAT LUNCH UP TILL 2 AND EAT FOR LESS THAN $5.00. family styles are huge portions.
The first thing you notice when you walk into the Double Dragon is that it's always being cleaned. I don't think I've ever been there when the windows aren't being washed, which probably shouldn't be done during business hours, but I'll take that over dirty windows. It's in an old Pizza Hut building, which means the decor isn't overly-Asian, but that's okay.
Then you order your food from friendly servers who don't make a big production about how they're doing you a huge favour if they have to tell the cooks there's someone in your group with a food allergy and you have to make a substitution. The wait is not long and out comes good food in nicely sized portions.
I was really impressed by the Char Siu - those slices of roasted pork you get as an appetiser - in most places they're tough, bland, and look like they were bought premade. Here at the Double Dragon, they're clearly made in-house and delicious, tender, and plentiful. There were only two or three menu items I was definitely not impressed with. One was something someone in my group ordered and I only took a taste, and the other was the Chow Mein. If you enjoy a big dish of flavourless celery and bean sprouts, you'll love the Chow Mein here. Everything else was very good and I recommend it to everyone.
The Double D has the best food. Never had a bad meal. Always hot and plenty to go around.
