Over priced for the quality of the food. I recommend staying in the bar and ordering off the bar menu. Bar is very nice and the prices are cheaper than the main dinning room.
The view and atmosphere are just the icing on the cake. Went here last night, just after the 4th. Even though it was late and mobbed from all the campers getting back into town, luckily, managed to grab a table in the bar right away. Service was prompt. I had the prime rib (awesome!) and my wife had the stuffed halibut. Both of our entree's were spectacular! (and promptly devoured!) The bartenders were a treat to watch, always putting on a show. For my first trip to anchorage I would have to call it a success!
This place opened in like 1976 and forever it had THE BEST food in Anchorage. However, something drastically changed a few years ago (heard that a vital kitchen team member left for Glacier BH?) and the food has only been 'OK' since then. The atmosphere and view will always be fantastic, but what comes out of the kitchen seems to be a polite crap shoot. Hope they'll get it back up to it's previous standard someday soon. In December the holiday decorations and the Hot Buttered Rum kick butt.
