I ate at the Brewhouse tonight and the staff were all very friendly. They went out of their way to bring change to our table so we could run out and put more quarters in the parking meter. We beat the dinner rush at first but the place got more crowded when we left. Ordered the Ale-battered Halibut and the blue cheese crumble salad (soooo Good!). Also got the Jamaican Jerk rubbed ribs and they are very spicy but have this flavor that you can only get from a wood fired oven and dry rub - Yum. The mashed potatoes could use a bit more garlic, and I'm still not sure if they had mushrooms in them...It took a little while to get change after paying for my order (with a tired 5-yr. old, that's a bit nerve wrecking) but it was not an unusually long wait. The only thing I can think of is they should provide something for children like crayons and paper or something - I saw other small children while we were there too. I don't think the food is horribly over priced, given the restaurants atmosphere and location. Just try to order a few smaller items and you'll get an assortment of different things - as well as extra for later! :)

While the food IS delicious and the atmosphere is nice with a pleasant comforting odor of a wood fire oven, the service is reserved for LOCAL REGULARS. I like to say that I am a big tipper, but I could not leave one this visit based on the poor service. This is probably my 7th visit to Anchorage from GA and I go to The GB every trip and the service could use improvement every visit. It took about 10 minutes to poor my initial and final Brewhouse Beer-and I was sitting at the bar! I would have loved to enjoy another with my meal, but was never offered one. I had to ask for a napkin, the complimentary bread, and well...my waiter was never seen again for another beverage. Seems to me that at $4.50 a beer, this would be the primary revenue for this restaurant-why not poor another for your customer? The waiter is failing to make revenue for the restaurant. Not to mention, the higher my bill, the higher the tip-Another concept the waiter failed to realize. I'll stick with the corned-beef and cabbage at McGinley’s Irish Pub. I was not drunk and that was not my goal by visiting the GB, just would like to have enjoyed a cold beer to compliment my seafood chowder…

Good food, good beer. What more can a man ask for?
