User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsTalk About Diversity: We really only have two "Gay Bars" here in Anchorage. Mad Myrna's is the "Dance Club." There are sections. The center and entry point hosts pool tables and a large bar. To the left is a Techno/House dance floor and to the right is a Retro dance floor. Off to the side of the TH floor is a large lounge to cool off.
The entrance to Myrna's is in the back from the parking lot. This is for security reasons (not that you need to be scared or worried).
The club attracts every age, every gender, and every fetish. It is a great deal of fun and well worth your visit. Yes there are wandering Drag Queens serving drinks :)
You may also get something to eat there although there is no "cafe".
A very nice aspect of the location of this bar is that it is walking distance to the Raven (which I will also review) and many other non Gay or "Gay Friendly" bars. There are also many inexpensive hotels right there so you really don't need to drive home (please don't).
Warning!!! Don't ring the brass bell over the bar!! It means you are buying drinks for everyone. Ahhhhhh....it was tragic! Killed that Visa card for good!

User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsIts a Mad, Mad Myrna's: Awesome bar and club... Folks from every walk of life can be found here. Incredibly friendly staff, safest bar in the State, drug free, and the greatest Drag show in the country.. Ask for Myrna and tell her April sent ya... She'll treat u like a queen and make u a part of the family. :-)
