Ate at haute quarter grill tonight... worst ever! NO vegetarian entrees "We'll just make something from whatever we have in the kitchen" WHAT?! Steak was fatty and of poor quality, not worth the $30! Not a good night for the HQ.
Can't beat a consistently wonderful meal, service, atmosphere etc. anywhere in or around Anchorage. We have tried and keep coming back to Haute Quarter as our favorite. Honestly we have been there at least 50 times in the last four year and never get bored. The Filet special on weekends changes and is always wonderful! And the FEW times they have been really busy or made mistakes they have gone over the top to make up for it. Customer service is a greatly forgotten art at even the nices resturants (had recently horrible experiences at Simons and Cosair) but it is not forgotte n at Haute Quarter! It is great to see a family owned and operated business like Haute Quarter do so well, they obviously love what they do!!!!
Our party of 6 had HORRIBLE service. After waiting 40 to 45 minutes for our meal, and seeing 2 other tables that ordered later had already been served, we asked the waitress. She flat told us that because "our group was so large" she was serving others first. When we finally got the food, my "rare" blackened prime rib was well done and cold. I cut the huge brussel sprouts in half (because they were stone cold inside), walked to the kitchen & asked for all to be heated for 35 or 40 seconds in a micro. 10 to 12 minutes later they brought me a different plate of less well done meat with new cold brussel sprouts. I gave up and ate what I could. (Blacken spices are nice). The final straw was on the bill. I had baked a carrot cake and brought it in because we were Celebrating birthdays for 3 of the 6. They Billed us a $15 "CAKE FEE"!!! Most restaurants give a free desert for bithdays, they charged $15 for us NOT ordering desert, and added an 18% gratuity to the bill altho I was guite sure the menu said that parties "larger than 6" would have an automatic gratuity. The service was NOT worth 18%, and the $15 Cake Fee (plus 18%) irritated me enough to advise all my friends to NOT go there.

Why would you think this restaurant would have vegetarian meals?? They aren't a vegetarian restaurant! This makes sense to me to make something from what's in the kitchen since you are asking for something NOT on the menu. Go to Organic Oasis and leave us meat lovers alone to enjoy their awesome steaks, I've never had a bad one! I love it there....
