Ruth's Chris Steak House - Minneapolis

Simply a wonderful evening, and a marvelous dinner! The atmosphere and professionalism is top-notch, and the food is equally impressive. We dined on the 4-course meals for a flat rate, which was a great value compared to previous visits. When we ordered an appetizer as well, and it was mistakenly not entered, the waiter, Tom, apologized at least 4 times, and comped the app for us. People make mistakes, and the genuiness and honesty in the apology was more than enough. Otherwise, every morsel of the food, from the Corn Pudding and Mashed Potatoes, down to the Steak Filets and Crab Cake Appetizers were beyond memorable. The desserts were so delicious, that we had to take one of them home with us. It was one of the finest restaurants I've ever been to, and I highly recommend them for any dining experience!

Well, I have to say that the steak at Ruth's Chris is the very best steak I have ever tasted....and I have been to ALL of the supposed "best" steak houses in the country. I know it is a "chain" franchise but each place seems to have a special flavor in their steaks that is second to none.

Be sure to use their "free" valet parking as you know your car will be safe as you dine. The place in Minneapolis has no windows so one can feel sort of "closed in" at times. However, you will see many of the Twin Cities so-called "celebrities" often when you dine there. Excellent place and excellent service and food!

Hoping for a great experience I really anticipated my visit to this restaurant. However I must admit I was gratly disappointed. On my reservation I had asked for my party to be seated at a table not in a booth - however when escorted to our "table" by the hostess it turned out to be a booth! Asking for a table did not go down to well but eventually with a sour face a table was located. Not that the restaurant was full ! When our waiter finally arrived and took the drink orders we sat waiting for quite a while for them to arrive. Finally we managed to get the food ordered but when served 2 of us were missing the sides ordered. Again a while passed for them to arrive. On top of that the famed steaks were below par in my oppinion compared to other steak houses around. e.g Capital Grille. To top it all not even the post dinner drink order did the waiter get right. I ordered an XO Cognac but the waiter returned with a single malt. Luckily I like both and not wanting to wait for the error to be resolved I did not complain. That together with slow and the un-attentive service did not warrant the price tag at this place and will not return there again. All in all a very poor performace.
