About:Known for its old-fashioned booths and gaudy, red crushed velour upholstery, this is a combination 1950s lounge, fun-loving piano bar and host to rip-roaring polka bands. As the unofficial gateway to the ethnic Minneapolis Nordeast, the crowd is a mixture of old regulars and young hipsters looking for a new experience. The legendary Ruth Adams Polka Band normally plays the small dance room, but the crowds come to hear Lou Snider in the piano bar. The food is the normal bar fare consisting of burgers, sandwiches, salads and appetizers. Beer, cocktails, wine and soft drinks are available.

Ambiance was great and so was the service. Besides being overpriced, the food quality is not very good and definitely not very Polish. I had the stuffed cabbage (golambki) which was basically a cabbageless meatball and very bland. They offer no sauce, tomato, mushroom or other with the meal, just a bland boiled potato. My one friend had a prime rib stroganoff that was overpowered by salt (maybe the Russians like it that way seeing that this is not a Polish dish). My other friend had a grilled salmon salad and loved it (again, not a traditional Polish meal). I'm a first generation American with Polish roots. I may be bias but I am certainly fair. If this place advertises Polish food, they had better hire a good Polish chef.

LOVE NYE'S! Food is awesome & the prices were very moderate last time we were there. Gotta love the piano bar with the sing along/karaoke option! A fun place w/ awesome food & atmosphere.

Nye's: Lou entertained us with all of our favorite songs. If you like singing along to old songs with a live piano this is the place. The decor makes you feel like you stepped back in time. The ambiance is always cheerful.
