| About: | Visit this small restaurant near the University of Minnesota, bustling with students and flavorful smells. The menu offers many different entrees and a full wine and beer list. The menu includes many seafood dishes in addition to vegetarian dishes. Lunchtime deals are great with an array of items available under $7. The dining area itself is not very large and the decor is minimal, but it is always full of life. The staff is very friendly and the service is quick. Opens daily at 11 am. |

A great place for a decent price. 7-8 dollar entrees with a whole lot of food to go at that price. The egg foo yung (sp) is delicious, though I feel it almost has a burnt taste to it. This may be intended and a future review may include a chef's explanation.
The house fried Rice is pretty standard, very good flavor for the price.
Will update when I try the beef lo main.
I've tried this place before and it was about the same as it was a year ago, so very much an institution in UofM terms :).
Awesome food at a great price! Lots to choose from on the menu & they ALWAYS have specials. The only complaint is their egg rolls- yuck! Too greasy. If they fixed that I would give them 5 stars!
My friends and I love Village Wok. It's located only a block from the Superblock, where most freshmen and sophomores live on campus. The best thing is, it's open until 1:45am (aka perfect for college students). Our favorite combo: Cheese Wontons (as an appetizer with sweet & sour sauce), the complementary tea, and a main course of Sesame Chicken (with the dressing on the side so you can also use the sweet & sour for the chicken).
