Oh heaven!: Turn off your computer and get to French Meadow immediately.
We went on a Saturday night and sat outside. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and utterly charming. We normally try to go easy on bread baskets but we went through two here -- each has three or four selections; I particularly loved the rye. I had the evening's vegan special, which was toe-curlingly tasty, and my fellow diners also raved about their dishes. Saturdays they offer half price bottles of wine, and our server's suggestion was excellent. Dessert (we tried two kinds of cheesecake) was equally heavenly. For the amount and quality of food we got, the bill was surprisingly reasonable.
Though the food is fine, fine dining (so delicious), the atmosphere is casual; anyone would feel welcome here. The folks at French Meadow really seem passionate about their food and the restaurant and it shows.
