| About: | Located in a beautiful Tudor-style mansion, this fascinating museum is home to an extensive collection of rare books, manuscripts, gadgets and scientific instruments related to electricity. The museum's benefactor, Earl Bakken and his company, Medtronic, have been instrumental in the creation of numerous medical devices that are based on the use of electricity. It was his intense interest in the subject of electricity that led to the creation of this exceptional, if not curious, showplace. The exhibits range from the basic workings of a light bulb to the intricacies of an electronic pacemaker. The exhibit devoted to the insane genius of Dr. Frankenstein is well worth the admission price in itself. The library's lush gardens feature more than 200 varieties of medicinal plants. |
