User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsI am a picky eater. Is Kikugawa the best Japanese food? No. But there are several areas Kikugawa is excellent at: The sevice is excellent, the ambiance is great (right next to the river), the price is decent considering the quality of food they serve. The cooks may not be Japanese, but how many people are striving for what it should tastes like in Japan? If you are, go to Japan. The sushi is always fresh. Do check out their special menu, they often have some great surprises.
I travel to Minneapolis for work, almost everytime I head to Kikugawa to get my sushi and sashimi fix.-

Great restaurant. Great food. Great service. The price isn't too bad and the waitress in their kimono was a good decor. I don't know much about the sushi but I order other stuff and I enjoyed it. The presentation of the tempura is wonderful.

It was "good". If your not too finicky about high quality or authenticity, then you'll find absolutely nothing wrong with Kikugawa. The food is both appeasing and portioned well, the service is FANTASTIC, the setting is perfect for a romantic date or fun night on the town, and the prices are insanely reasonable. Again, the food is not fabulous, but it's certainly not bad. I've been there a couple of times before, and do plan to go back at least once more.
