I would have to say that I have never had a good experience shopping at this store. The place is virtually empty with no line until you decide to check out. The incompetent cashiers are highly inefficient and usually take 7-10 minutes PER CUSTOMER (with only 10 or 15 items). The lady at the Customer service desk (her name is Kate or Kelly can't remember exactly) is always is always is a horrible mood and has lashes out at customers which is highly unprofessional. I felt like a needed a tetanus shot after using a cart because the rest and sharp points, i would never EVER recommend that anyone put a child in one of these carts.

Remember to check the expiration dates on anything you purchase from this store. Many items that were on the self, at the time i was there, had expired weeks ago. I has there at the end of June and expired popcorn from March was on the shelf, that is unacceptable. The freezer there has contains milk and eggs in 53 degree temperatures which is way to warm and a health hazard. I brought this to their attention but they did not seem to care. So I obviously need to make a call to the department of health.

I kept going back to this store because of its convenient location but driving an extra 10 minutes to target or another store is better than shopping at this Kmart.

I think the Richfield Kmart is one of the best kept secrets of south Minneapolis. I don't think a lot of people know about it because it's hard to see the store from the road, but it's right on Lyndale Ave. just north of 66th St. I can usually find what I'm looking for there - recently they even started to carry home appliances! (I got an insane deal on a new refrigerator.) The staff seems pretty diverse, which I see as a huge asset. And it's the only discount store I've ever seen with a manager that walks the floor talking with customers and taking interest in their shopping experience.
