I've visited from Phoenix twice now and was introduced to Daube's Bakery back in January '08. This bakery is just outstanding. The klatches (sp) are beyond description. They will absolutely blow your shorts off. The walnut cookies are incredible. You can tell from the very first bite that this bakery uses high quality ingredients and not junk. Do yourself a favor: if you're within a 100 (or more) miles of Rochester, Minnesota at any time in your life get to Daube's Bakery. You will be amazed & you will be rewarded.

In the interest of full disclosure, I worked at Daube's many years ago while I was a high school student. That said, I have since moved to a different part of the country, and miss the wonderful breads and pastries so much I have actually driven 7 hours to Minnesota for the express purpose of picking up some goodies. My favorite pastries are the various kolache, and my favorite bread is the Fat French - crisp on the outside, soft and light on the inside. Cynthia's cakes are incredible, and her carrot cake is by far the best I've had. You won't be disappointed.

Daube's is an authentic german Bakery and Deli.: This is THE place to get your wedding cake made, grab a quick slice of quiche, or just some cheap, high quality European baked goods. Prices are alot better than one would expect and they always have intriguing cakes for immediate purchase.
