    The best Chinese restaurant?! It's the only Chinese restaurant! My extended family loves this place so I've been dragged along to a number of meals here dating back to when it was still located by the river.(I don't believe many of them have ever been to a good Chinese restaurant which explains a lot.) HKG has been uniformly awful at every visit.Portions are large but are glop.Soups are bland gravy.The last time I dared to order egg rolls I squeezed one and rendered at least two tablespoons of oil out of the thing.Most of the veggies might as well be,if they aren't,canned. And the last time we were there we were put into a back room with missing and water stained ceiling tiles,junk piled in the corners and a none too friendly,anglo waitress.I hope that remodeling has been done.It always makes me sad as it's ancestor (and my first employer) the Chinese Dragon and chef Koon Meng Chan were so good.(Those eggrolls then!! Many things like the serving trays/serving style date to the CD)... My apologies to the other reviewers but HKG makes the Asian buffet in town look very good and you can't fault the portions at a buffet.Grand Rapids needs a real Chinese place but hasn't had one since The Bamboo Room in the 60's (run out of a private home for many years) I Hope for a change but am not holding my breath.After nearly 30 years of bad Chinese food"The Rapids" deserves better.

    Great Food, Great Value: I love the Hong Kong food and service. It is a great place to eat with a great pice. If you like chinese food this is the place to go in northern minnesota. You recieve a large amount of food for a fair price. The food you recieve is always prepared well and always tastes great. I have never had any bad expericences at the Hong Kong resteraunt.
