User Rating: 2 out of 5 starswe ate at sammys sept 16 2008 at downtown location. It was recommended to us by hotel clerk. We usually went to Pizza Luce'. The first thing we noticed was how dirty the carpet was. Several employees standing around and few people in the place. We ordered the house pizza with salad. Salad not bad, but the pizza was very dry, overcooked, and only contained about one-half of the listed toppings. We requested a cup of sauce to put on it since it was so dry. The only positive was the waitress. Very friendly. But we will not return. My advice- Go to Pizza Luce'. We only pass thru Duluth once a year so we will have to wait for really good pizza.

In Duluth Mn there is absoulutely nothing better then Sammy's Pizza!
Once I introduce my out of town friends to Sammy's it becomes one of their first stops upon returning to the frozen Tundra called Duluth.
It may be a tradition and I call it a craving!-

I disagree. Sammy's is a great Pizza. Perhaps the writer of the above does not understand Pizza. Pizza Luce' is okay, even good, but is not real pizza. The sauce at Sammy's is just right, not sweet.
